Belmont: Well Positioned wins return

Too bad Well Positioned (3rd, $4.00) wasn't in the pick-6. The 4-year-old colt, away since Beyering 105-107-105 in three starts on Aqueduct's inner track last winter for Rick Dutrow Jr., sped clear early under Javier Castellano and turned back a challenge at the quarter pole from fellow comebacker Anak Nakal to win decisively after 1 1/16 miles in 1:41.42.

Anak Nakal, the 2008 Pa. Derby winner, and the 6-5 second choice for his first start since a fifth in the Clark last fall, finished a clear second over Seniors Pride, as the field of five crossed the line in pari-mutuel order.
