Belmont: Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!

Making his first start for meet-leading trainer Rudy Rodriguez, B B Frank (1st, $6.70) rallied three wide into the stretch and blew by the leaders to win a $7,500 basement-claiming sprint going away as the favorite.

It was the first one-turn dirt race on a fast track for B B Frank since back-to-back wins at Gulfstream Park in 2008.

Rodriguez improved to 8-2-2 with 18 starters at Belmont's fall session. Horses making their first start for the jockey-turned-trainer are 22 for 47 (46.8%) this year.

R-Rod has two more starters on the card: Adams Circle (aluminum pad on) in race 3; and Ticondero, who drew in from the also-eligibles in race 10.
