Belmont: Right One wins Island Sun

Hardly drawing a deep breath, Right One (4th, $4.60) swept past the leaders outside under a confident Rajiv Maragh, and drew off to win the $60,000 Island Sun overnight stakes under mild urging.

Right One won just twice from 16 starts in Europe, one of those wins coming on the fibresand track at Deauville last winter. However, the 5-year-old gelding is now 2 for 2 in the U.S. for Christophe Clement, and he looks bound for graded stakes after this easy win.

Right One ran a mile in 1:33.41 over a firming-up Widener turf.

Beau Choix outfinished Zifzaf for the runner-up spot.
