Belmont Park: Stewards get it right leaving Nuclear Wayne up

Since we are quick to bash the stewards when they make what in our opinion is the wrong call, we'll give them a little credit for making the correct call in leaving Nuclear Wayne up in the fourth.

Yes, Nuclear Wayne drifted in two or three paths after being hit with Cornelio Velasquez's left handed-whip, but he was a good 1 1-2 lengths clear of Callide Valley, who steadied only briefly under Rajiv Maragh, who lodged the objection. The stewards ruled it did not alter the order of finish which was correct.

The only question I have for the stewards on this one was ``What took so long?''

By the way, the final time of 1:08.26 only confirms the track is fast and the at the horse's backs in the stretch is a factor.
