Belmont Park: Pick-six hitl returns $85,843

There will be no monster pick-six carryover on Wednesday.

Skips Prospect split horses in deep stretch and got up late to win the nightcap, resulting in a pick-six payout of $85,843. The consolation payout (5 of 6) was $409.50.

After four pretty formful races, an upset victory by Smokin Hero ($18.80) in the Noble Nashua created a possiblity of a carryover with 5 of the 12 horses in the finale uncovered. Many of those longshots set the pace, setting it up for the closers and Skips Prospect, under Cornelio Velasquez, turned out to be the best one. Tough beat for those who had Strikealinethruit, who would have triggered a $54,627 payout had she won.

The winning sequence of 6-3-8-7-8-7 consisted of Far Isle ($7.50), Longhammer ($12.40), Race to URga ($3.70), Considerate ($7), Smokin Hero ($18.80) and Skips Prospect ($17.80).
