Belmont Park: Levine, Cohen sweep early double

Trainer Bruce Levine and jockey David Cohen completed a sweep of Saturday's early double when Bambi Bound, getting Lasix and blinkers after finishing sixth in debut at Saratoga, displayed good early speed and edged away from Shadow Trick, a first-time starter from trainer Carlos Martin/Flying Zee, who also showed good early lick, to win by about two lengths.

Bambi Bound was 3-1 as he was about to be loaded into the gate. Went off at 2-1, returning $6.70.

Levine and Cohen won the first with Run to Grand Ave, who was removing bar shoe.

Levine has three other runners on the card including Brother Cha, an Irish-bred who makes his North American debut with Lasix in the fifth race, a six-furlong turf sprint. He has not been out since May 28. Levine has John Velazquez to ride that one for owner Earle Mack. Levine's other runners are Dundee in $20,000 claimer in fourth, and Tocco d'Oro, who won $20,000 claimer on turf last out and who now runs in first-level state-bred event.
