Belmont Park: It's good to be the King

Email

In a stretch duel fit for a King ---- and a Prince ---- it was Power King getting the nose victory over 4-5 favorite The Prince in the sixth at Belmont.

Power King, under David Cohen,  came up along the inside of The Prince, and Javier Castellano approaching the quarter pole and prevailed in a stretch-long duel. Power King ($12.20) ended a streak of four consecutive winning favorites. Earlier on the card, Cohen, won a race for trainer Steve Klesaris, the trainer of The Prince.

Both Cohen and Castellano have two wins on the card.

Though we've had some showers, there still has yet to be significant rainfall. Main track remains fast, turf courses remain firm and the main-track only entrants were scratched out of the last two races.
