Belmont: Muddy & off turf

After a couple rain-filled dark days, the main track is muddy and we're off the turf to begin the week. The early pick-4 goes 3x5x6x7 after scratches, beginning with Radiohead vs. Temecula Creek and Papa Bear in race 2.

Final Mesa appeared the much stronger half of a Wesley Ward-trained entry with Nina Fever, but scratched out of the $60,000 Classy Mirage overnight stakes (3rd) to await Friday's Miss Preakness at Pimlico. Savvy Supreme will inherit the role of favorite in the six-furlong dash for 3-year-old fillies.

A Story of Revenge (8th), a 3-year-old half-sister to I Want Revenge who won her only start at Monmouth last September, returns off some bullet works at Fair Hill and meets four rivals in a six-furlong allowance. Among them are Precious Soul, a debut winner at Gulfstream for Allen Jerkens; and In Step, a $1 million Darley Stable filly who was fifth in the Comely Stakes second time out.
