Belmont: Girolamo wins Vosburgh

Girolamo (6th, $6.20) steadied soon after the start, but recovered to post a decisive victory over a game but outgunned Riley Tucker in the Grade 1 Vosburgh under Alan Garcia. Wildcat Bried rallied from last to finish third over Temecula Creek in the field of nine, as co-second choices Driven by Success and Snapshot finished far back.

Girolamo was the first graded stakes winner in the United States this year for Godolphin Stable and trainer Saeed bin Suroor. Making his second start at 4, he ran the six furlongs in 1:09.41.
