Belmont: Fast & firm

Email

Fast and firm for Wednesday's nine-race card, where the richest race is the $100,000 Times Square division of the New York Stallion (3rd), but the focal point is the $60,000 Waldoboro overnight stakes (8th).

In the Waldoboro, five-time Grade 2 winner d' Funnybone makes his second start of the year and takes on Trappe Shot and Rule by Night, who are both making their 4-year-debuts. Trappe Shot makes his first start since stopping badly as a lukewarm favorite in the Travers. Rule by Night was last seen at Aqueduct last fall running seven furlongs in 1:20 and change to win an overnight stake with a 108 Beyer Figure.

The Rudy Rodriguez-trained Darrin's Dilemma is the one to catch and beat in the N.Y. Stallion race, and the Freud colt's biggest threat may be his uncoupled stablemate, Freuds Ana Streak, another son of Freud.

Freud is also represented in the seven-horse field by Freud's Honour.
