Drosselmeyer (11th, $28.00) rallied from off the pace to catch First Dude in deep stretch, and won the 142nd running of the Belmont Stakes by three-quarters of a length under Mike Smith.

Drosselmeyer gave trainer Bill Mott his first win in a Triple Crown race, after running the 1 1/2 miles in 2:31.57 seconds.

Fly Down closed late to get second in the final strides by a neck over First Dude.

Ice Box, the 9-5 favorite, failed to fire and finished ninth.

Following upsets by Champagne d'Oro ($81.00) in the Acorn and Winchester ($44.80) in the Manhattan, Drosselmeyer triggered a three-day pick-6 carryover of $930,495, which will be up for grabs when racing resumes on Wednesday.

  The $1 million guaranteed pick-4 paid $167,056 for $2.
