Belmont: Castellano sweeps DD

It's the first of 59 days at Belmont Park's spring-summer meet, and so far it's been all Javier Castellano, who swept the early double ($22.00) with favored Johannesburg Smile (1st, $4.30) for Dominic Galluscio, and Aspire to Silver (2nd, $7.90), a Chad Brown-trained second-time starter who was co-second choice along with runner-up Sea of Sea.

The opening-day feature is the 82nd running of the Westchester. Last year's winner, Bribon, is favorably weighted under the allowance conditions of the one-mile race, getting two pounds from Le Grand Cru. The latter won the off-the-turf Kelso and the Bold Ruler in New York last fall, but went 0 for 4 at Gulfstream Park.
