Arlington: Wind whipping, speed holding

No letup in that strong west wind, which continues blowing hard into the horses as they come through the stretch. Silver Age just wired race 8, making it three wire-to-wire winners in five Poly starts. Also home was 12-1 second-time starter and class-dropper Stone Free in race 4, and 1-1 Sleetcalling in race 1. Our Girl Magic came up the fence to best pace-setting Peace Speaks, who held second, in race 5. Doublefour rallied wide and from well behind a slow pace to easily take race 2, so far the only two-turn Poly race of the day. All in all, it'd be hard to make a strong case for a significant main-track bias, even with those three speed winners.

Eighteen minutes from a snoozy edition of the G3 Wash Park Handicap. Giant Oak and Elusive Beat are co-favored at 2-1. The former hasn't won a race in 16 months; the latter has won once in his entire career.
