Arlington: Two scratched from Washington Park

I had no idea what the 6-year-old turf-mare miler Cure for Sale was doing in the Washington Park Handicap, which is for older horses at 9.5 furlongs on Polytrack. But now she's not in, so I can stop wondering. Cure for Sale and Coolcullen Times (entered back in New York, didn't ship from Fair Hill for Graham Motion) both scratched out of AP's signature main-track race in the handicap division.

If the Breeders' Cup people could order a do-over, the Wash Park -- with five horses and no solid graded-stakes performers of any sort - would not, I kind of have to think, be a BC Challenge Win and You're In for the BC Classic. But who knows? Maybe one of these five is a star in the making.
