Arlington: Turf course producing closers, inside and outside

Horses coming up fence (Tazz in race 6, Top Pair in race 5) and horses rallying wide (near dead-heat between E Blue and Roi le Roi in race 4) suggest that no part of the AP turf course is better than another. And Hooh Why just upset the female division of the Illinois Owners Stakes from just off the early pace, ending the dominance of closers. However, that's not going to have much bearing on Million Day. Turf races today being run six feet outside lane 1, and tomorrow the two courses are 10 feet inside lane 1 and 30 feet outside lane 5.

The course is labeled "good," and I suppose I might buy that, but times are at least in the average range, and I'm not at all sure about the "yielding" designation given the course yesterday. My plan is to walk the course at 9:30 tomorrow and feel things out for myself.
