Arlington: Robertson's 2nd Thursday winner has promise

Email

Trainer Hugh Robertson won race 2 with conditioned-claiming turf-sprinter, and a win is a win, but Jump Up Jinny, Robertson's second of the day, looks like a filly worth following (to Keeneland?) after her win in race 6. Closing second in a sprint to start her career, 2yo daughter of Jump Start was stretched out to a mile here, and after briefly fighting the rider while in behind horses on the backstretch, Jump Up Jinny, a daughter of Jump Start - Jinny's Gold (Gold Fever) settled down nicely for jockey James Graham. Made nice move up the fence to reach contention around the turn, came out, and while drifting a bit, was significantly the best, home by 2.5 lengths over late-running Stidham-trained firster Hey Carmen. Jump Up Jinny's win flattered Honey Chile, who handled her in their common career debut, and who runs back Saturday in the Arl.-Wash. Lassie.
