Arlington: Polytrack inside speed

Two races, two main-track, inside-speed winners on Arlington Million Day. Neither Algonquin Posse in race 1 nor Retail Reger in race 2 were anything close to illogical, but both won in a way to suggest that the track profile, as much as the individual, guided the result. Algonquin Posse really spread out the field in race 1, an Illinois maiden-special, and she and Little Frances were far, far ahead of the rest. In race 2, Retail Reger, a debut winner last out, made the early lead from post 2, got heavy pressure from two outside horses at the three-sixteenths pole, but edged away in the final half-furlong to win. No horse made up ground of any consequence in either race.
