Arlington: Peace Bridge strikes blow for bias believers

Maybe Peace Bridge just "needed" her race June 22, the filly's first start since January, when she pressed the pace a couple paths wide and faded to finish fourth at even money. Maybe. But Peace Bridge got an outside pressing trip that seemed like the worst place to be on Polytrack during a period in June when the surface seemed rail-biased. And maybe that's why she performed below expectations. Same trip in today's race 2, which was the same class level as the last race, $10K maidens, and this time Peace Bridge won by five. Gonna keep looking for those outside horses from something like June 10 through June 24. For whatever reason, the apparent bias was gone the next day.
