Arlington: Divito firster scores, Mad Flatter wires

That DiVito firster debuting in blinkers in race 7, Third Chance, was all that his opening 6-5 price suggested. Dueled outside post-time favorite Midwinter, put that one away in upper stretch, and rolllllllled to an easy win, odds drifting to 3-1 in the end. Three debut winners for trainer Jim DiVito this meet.

$40K tag did trick for Mad Flatter, who was cut out to be a graded stakes horse had not injuries compromised him. Led all the way in race 8 under James Graham, though no one else in this heat did much running at all.

Year-plus layoff not getting in way of bettors making Successful Dan 2-1 chalk with 8 mtp in the nightcap. So far today, early betting action has been highly predictive.
