Jockey John Velazquez, who was thrown from his mount Go Go Shoot, at the three-sixteenths pole of Thursday's Fall Highweight Handicap, took off his mounts on Friday's card and was to have precautionary X-rays on his right side, according to New York Racing Association officials.

Velazquez, who was also thrown Wednesday when his mount, Rhys, stumbled and unseated him leaving the starting gate, woke up complaining of pain on his right side.

Velazquez was named to ride six horses on Friday including Qualia in the Grade 2 Top Flight Handicap. On Saturday, he is named in seven of the 10 races including morning-line favorite To Honor and Serve in the Grade 2 Remsen and Bribon in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile.

Velazquez, who turned 39 on Wednesday, is the leading rider in the country in purse earnings with $16,301,633 through Nov. 24.
