Aqueduct: Update on Gracia, Bermudez

Jason Gracia, who was unconscious when being loading into the ambulance, regained consciousness as he entered the Emergency Room at Jamaica Hospital, according to New York Racing Association officials. He is being evaluated for ``multisystem trauma,'' NYRA officials said. Multisystem trauma means the areas of concern involve more than one system or organ such as head and spinal trauma, or chest and abdominal trauma.

Meanwhile Jose Bermudez was taken to North Shore University Hospital where he was complaining of general aches and pains, according to NYRA officials. An Aqueduct steward said that Bermudez was complaining of pain in his ribcage area.

Ryan and Jack, the horse Gracia was on, fractued his skull when he fell and was euthanized on the track, according to NYRA vet Anthony Verderosa.
