Aqueduct: Tidal Dance ($3.00) takes Ladies

Making her first start in nearly 10 weeks, Tidal Dance (4th, $3.00) caught the leaders with a three-wide move on the far turn and drove clear to win Saturday's Ladies Stakes by 2 1/4 lengths under Channing Hill.

Love's Blush, the 5-2 second choice, held second by a half-length over Distinctively. Quiet Mover set the early pace and faded to last as the quartet finished in pari-mutuel order.

The exacta paid $5.60. There was no show or trifecta wagering after the scratch of Weathered reduced the field to four.

First run in 1868 at Jerome Park, the Ladies was brought back for its 139th running after a one-year hiatus. It was shortened to 1 1/8 miles this year for the first time since 1892.

Tidal Dance ran the distance in 1:53.59, as trainer Mike Hushion improved to 11 for 15 (73.3%) with favorites in New York this year.
