Aqueduct: Talented Princess unseats Cohen in opener

Email

With a strong wind blowing and heavy rain on the way, NYRA hoped to speed up post times to get the day over with faster.

The card got off to an eventful start went something went amiss with Talented Princess, whose  hind end went out from under her two strides out of the gate and she dumped jockey David Cohen.

Cohen appeared to land awkwardly, doing a virtual split. He got up and limped into an awaiting ambulance, favoring his right leg or ankle. It is unlikely Cohen will ride his remaining four mounts on the card.

Talented Princess jogged a few strides before stopping. The 8-year-old mare walked onto the equine ambulance.

The race was won by Full N Sassy who held off a late run from E Z Passer.
