Aqueduct: Off the pace place to be

Email

The early returns are in and it appears better to be off the pace than on it. First race winner, Wheelsareoffthebus, came through opening large enough for a bus to get the job done under apprentice Joe Mussaro at 5-1

Second race, scheduled for the turf but run on the dirt, was won by Napkins --- previously 0 for 15 --- who had one horse beat turning for home and rallied four wide to run down Ali's Joy at 9-2 odds. Despite one fan imploring Richard Migliore to get Napkins home, the winner was ridden by Jorge Chavez. Apparently, fan did not read DRF to learn that Migliore is sidelined with a bulging disc and pinched nerve in his neck.

Raced 5 and 10 remain on the grass as scheduled.
