Aqueduct: Muddy and sealed; Cohen off his mounts

Email

Aqueduct's inner track is muddy and sealed to begin Friday's card. Igoturback rallied from well off the pace to run down Hope for Today and Artie's Chapter to win the opener.

The sun is out and temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-50s which should help dry things out by the end of the day and especially for the weekend.

David Cohen, who got stepped on by his mount, Talented Princess, in Thursday's opener, took off his mounts Friday.

His replacements are Cornelio Velasquez on Iguazu in the second, Victory Santiago on Stormin Bolt in the seventh, Mike Luzzi on Midnight Visit in the eighth, the Proud Puppy Stakes, and Ramon Dominguez on Now Now Girl in the ninth. Also in the ninth, Luzzi replaces Vicory Santiago on Mama Dukes.

Cohen, the second-leading rider at the meet, is hopeful to return Saturday.
