Aqueduct: Jacobson now the hot barn

Email

After winning with seven consecutive starters at this meet, trainer Chris Englehart has now lost with his last three runners. He has seemingly passed the mantle of streakiness over to David Jacobson, who has won with his last three starters. Jacobson completed a 2-for-2 afternoon on Thursday when Jacky Juice chased then ultimatley ran down pace-setting Yo Karakorum in an optional claiming/allowance race in which five of the nine horses entered were offered for the $25,000 claiming tag.

Earlier on the card, Jacobson won the opener with Stealth Missile, who won a $10,000 claimer over Crafty Mark in similar fashion, dueling with Crafty Mark before overtaking that one late to win by a length.

On Wednesday, Jacobson won the seventh race with Green Bananas. All three of Jacobson's winners were ridden by David Cohen.

Jacobson now has 11 wins for the inner track meet, tied with Todd Pletcher for second in the inner track standings Rick Violette still leads with 12.
