Aqueduct: Icabad Crane easily wins G'Day Mate

Icabad Crane (8th, $3.50) made his short price look like a bargain in the $60,000 G'Day Mate overnight stakes, after circling four wide into the stretch and galloping past the leaders under a hand ride from Rajiv Maragh.

Icabad Crane has now won three in a row on the inner track, having taken the Kings Point last March and the Alex M. Robb on New Year's Eve. This was the third win from as many starts at Aqueduct this winter for Fair Hill-based trainer Graham Motion, who also captured the recent Whirlaway Stakes with Toby's Corner.

Icabad Crane ran a mile and 70 yards in 1:41.63 over a fast inner track. Manteca, who was second in the A.M. Robb, outfinished Spa City Fever for the runner-up spot.
