Aqueduct: Favorites, Dominguez dominate Wednesday card

Favorites went 7 for 9  in the slop/mud at Aqueduct on Wednesday, a day when only 50 horses went to post. The total of winning favorites for the main track meet to 48 for 102, or 47-percent. This after favorites won at a 42.4-percent rate (275 for 649) during the four-month inner track meet. There were 147 winning tickets sold on Wednesday's pick-six, returning $133.50 each. The consolation pick-six payoff was $3.70 and there were 1,725 tickets on that.

Ramon Dominguez rode four winners on Wednesday's card, including Spa City Princess ($10.60) who rallied from off the pace to win the Chase the Dream Stakes for New York-bred fillies and mares. One favorite who can't seem to get it done anymore is Cody Samora, who finished a non-threatening third as the 8-5 choice. It is the third straight race she has disappointed as the chalk.

Dominguez's other winners came in the three turf races that were rained off  to the main track --- Show Trial ($3.70) in the fourth, Buster's Ready ($2.80) in the seventh and Now Now Girl ($3.70) in the ninth.

With his four wins, Dominguez moved within one of Cornelio Velasquez (16-15), who won the eighth on Viola. Viola was one of tow winenrs on the card for trainer Rudy Rodriguez.
