Aqueduct: Fast, firm, several rider changes

Fast and firm conditions for the final day of racing on Aqueduct's main track before racing moves to the inner dirt on Wednesday for four months. NYRA officials hope to keep turf racing going through at least one more week.

Obviously, jockeys Jason Gracia and Jose Bermudez are not riding today after being involved in Saturday's gruesome spill. Gracia was upgraded to stable condition, but will be out indefinitely after suffering broken ribs, a broken collarbone and a hairline fracture in his neck. Bermudez has bruised ribs and will be out one week.

John Velazquez is not riding today due to soreness from being thrown on both Wednesday and Thursday. His agent, Angel Cordero, said he hopes Velazquez will return on Wednesday.

Here are the rider changes:

1st -- Fernando Jara replaces Velazquez on 5-2 Aprilmayjune

2nd --- Jose Lezcano replaces Gracia on Hookin the Goods

4th --- Rajiv Maragh replaces Velazquez on Mountain Rose (who draws in from AE list)

7th --- Lezcano replaces Velazquez on Launch n Relaunch

8th --- Lezcano replaces Velazquez on Three Day Rush. Also, Edgar Prado fills in for Junior Alvarado on Who's the Cowboy. This race has the most significant scratch on the card as Soda Pop Kid is out, part of an entry Ricoriatoa.

9th --- Erick Lopez subs for Bermudez on 50-1 shot Ungi Blanc. Diamond District runs with 2 aluminum pads on.
