Aqueduct: Fast, firm and chilly

The main track is fast and the turf is labeled firm on the last significant day of racing in New York for several months. There is a breeze that at this point will be blowing in the horse's faces in the stretch and making for possibly faster than usual earlier fractions in sprints.

In addition to the four graded stakes there is an intriguing six-furlong maiden race for 2-year-olds. Remember, Quality Road,  broke his maiden on this day as a 2-year-old. There are all types of whispers regarding Crossbow, Escort and even Star Harbour. Storm 'n Indian, coupled with Crossbow, is scratched.

In the stakes, Light Your World (12-1 morning line) is out of the Demoiselle, making that a four-horse betting interest. In the Remsen, scratche Pants on Fire and Economic Summit, making that a five-horse betting field. In the Grade 1 Gazelle, scratch Ms Vanenzza, a hopless longshot. No scratches in the Hill n Dale Cigar Mile.
