Aqueduct: Ava K. wires Proud Puppy

Remaining unbeaten after maiden and first-level allowance wins at six furlongs, Ava K. (8th, $3.50) stretched out successfully for a front-running win in the $60,000 Proud Puppy overnight stakes for 3-year-old New York-bred fillies.

Ava K., the third winning favorite on the card for Ramon Dominguez, turned back pace pressure from Midnight Visit, and remained safely clear. The Dixie Union filly, trained by Mike Hushion, ran a mile and 70 yards in 1:45.17 on a drying-out inner track labeled good.

Hot Danger was up late to edge Midnight Visit for second.
